Sounio Half Day Tour – Description
Drive along Attica’s beautiful coastal road and pass Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza’s beautiful beaches. On the way, you see Attica’s wild coastline and the Saronic Gulf’s few small islands. Driving towards Cape Sounion, Attica’s southernmost point, where the wonderful Poseidon Temple stands on top of a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea. This is the spot where, according to the myth, King Aegeus fell into the sea and died, believing that the Minotaur had killed his only son Theseus in Crete. Climb the hill, visit Poseidon’s temple, the god of the sea, and enjoy the beautiful view. You have some leisure time to walk around Cape Sounion after this visit.
